Our privacy commitment
A Northern Light Coaching & Development (“A Northern Light,” “we,” “us”) works with pilots, physicians, cleared professionals, air traffic controllers, first responders, and others in disclosure-sensitive careers. Privacy is not an afterthought here — it is the reason many clients choose this practice. This policy describes the limited information we collect and how we handle it.
This policy covers the website anorthernlight.org and our coaching engagements. It does not describe a clinical or medical records relationship, because coaching is not therapy and we do not create clinical records (see our Disclaimer).
Information we collect
- Information you give us directly. When you submit the consultation or contact form, or reach us by email or phone, we receive the details you choose to share — typically your name, contact information, and a short description of what you want to work on.
- Scheduling and session logistics. Limited information needed to schedule and conduct sessions (for example, appointment times and a video meeting link).
- Website analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). This involves cookies or similar technologies and is processed by Google. We use it only in aggregate and do not use it to identify individual visitors.
We do not ask for, and we discourage sending, sensitive medical, clearance, or diagnostic detail through the website or unencrypted email.
How we use information
We use the information above only to:
- respond to your inquiry and schedule a consultation;
- deliver and coordinate coaching sessions you have requested;
- maintain basic business records; and
- understand, in aggregate, how the website is used.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising or share it with data brokers.
Confidentiality and disclosure
We treat the existence and content of your engagement as confidential and limit access to what is necessary to provide the service. We may disclose information only where required by law, to prevent imminent harm, or with your direction. Because coaching is not a licensed clinical service, it does not carry therapist–patient or other clinical privilege; please see the Disclaimer and Terms of Membership for what that means.
Data retention and security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required for legitimate business or legal reasons, then dispose of it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of vendors to operate (for example, website hosting, analytics, video conferencing, and email). These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy practices. Links to external sites are provided for convenience and are governed by those sites’ policies, not this one.
Your choices
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have given us.
- You can decline analytics cookies through your browser settings or a tracking-prevention tool.
- You can ask us not to contact you further at any time.
To make a request, contact us using the details below.
Children
This site and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the practice evolves or as the final, attorney-reviewed version is adopted. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date on this page.
